Started in 2008, the Empower Shop, a division of the Hong Kong Society for the Blind, funded by the “Sight Restoration Campaign Fund”, has given Hong Kong’s local, blind and vision impaired men and women an opportunity to work and support themselves. The goal of the Empower Shop is to train and give the vision impaired an opportunity to practise their use of communications and relations skills in a work environment that is friendly and supportive. By purchasing these fine products, you are helping to alleviate the burdens often felt by the blind and vision impaired by giving them new opportunities to exercise a sense of self-satisfaction in work that would, otherwise, not be available to them.
